NVIDIA Packages Hardware and Software Into a Blueprint for AI Factory Construction

What happened: NVIDIA has announced the DSX platform, a framework for designing, building and running AI factories. It was unveiled at GTC Taipei. DSX combines open-source software libraries, APIs, reference designs, NVIDIA computing platforms and partner technologies.

Why it matters: The platform includes silicon, systems, infrastructure software and facilities. New additions include DSX MaxLPS, which the company says lets operators run up to 40% more GPUs within a fixed power budget using 45-degree-Celsius liquid cooling. DSX OS provides open-source, modular software for factory operations.

Industry context: Existing DSX elements cover validated reference designs, simulation, power-grid integration and secure signal exchange. Cloud partners including CoreWeave, Crusoe and Lambda are deploying components. System makers such as Dell, HPE, Lenovo, Supermicro and Foxconn are building DSX-ready systems.
