Wateralia, a manufacturer of pumps and water systems, has entered an agreement to purchase Italian valve maker CSA. The deal takes Wateralia beyond pumps into control valves for pressurised water networks.
CSA was founded in 1987 and is located in Parma in Italy . Its valves regulate pressure and reservoir levels, and protect pipelines from pressure surges and water hammer. The company designs, engineers, builds and tests its products in-house. It has more than 1,000 customers, mostly municipalities and multi-utilities, across markets except Asia .
Wateralia now has a wider offering to utilities. The group can now supply both the pumps that move water and the valves that control it once it is in the network. Wateralia has seven manufacturing plants and 27 subsidiaries, and sells in more than 140 countries. That gives CSA’s valves access to a much larger sales network than the Italian company had on its own.
For industrial users and network operators, the purchase shows suppliers building packages around flow control on top of their pumps portfolio alone. Pressure management, surge protection and level control are now offered alongside pumping by a single group.
