Mechanical and biological waste recycling and biomass processing are the focus of Komptech GmbH, which offers more than 50 machine types, shredders (Terminator, Crambo, Axtor), windrow turners (Topturn X), screeners (Multistar, Nemus), and separators (Hurrikan, Stonefex), covering shredding, screening, and separation. Founded in 1992 in Frohnleiten, Austria, and part of the Orasis Industries group, it can process 6.5 million tonnes of waste a year and serves more than 4,000 customers in 80 countries, from Ghana to the Maldives, offering new, used, and rental machines. It reached a neutral carbon footprint through emission compensation in 2021. With a new Frohnleiten headquarters and a competence center in Oelde, Germany, the company invests heavily in R&D and works with research institutions, supporting the circular economy by turning organic waste, waste wood, and mixed waste into compost, biomass, and RDF.
