An extra-low voltage (ELV) drive solution for automated guided vehicles (AGVs) has been released by Siemens. This system, which consists of the Sinamics E210 converter and the Simotics E-1EE1 servo motors, supports 24 V and 48 V systems.
Key Highlights
- Products: Sinamics E210 converter. Simotics E-1EE1 servomotors.
- Applications: AGVs, AMRs and driverless transport systems.
- Voltage: Supports 24 V and 48 V batteries.
What Has Been Announced
The Sinamics E210 is a small regenerative converter that can handle traction, wheel, steering, lifting, and other axes. It is directly connected to ELV batteries, eliminating the need for converters. The device is also compatible with PROFIsafe and PROFINET IRT.
The Simotics E-1EE1 servomotors have a shaft height of 40-63 mm and can achieve high power and torque levels. Other features include a BiSS-C safety encoder with 14 bits, a holding brake, and different gearbox options.
Why It Matters
Mobile robotics technology is becoming widespread and is gaining popularity in the field of intralogistics, where energy-efficient drive systems are required for the movement of materials. The integration of the converter with the motor helps to reduce the complexity of engineering processes and standardize manufacturing of vehicles.
For Indian manufacturers and warehouse automation companies, this solution presents an additional option for creating battery-based transportation systems, although no information is available yet about the introduction of the new motor.
