Industrial automation company Comau has expanded its wearable robotics lineup with the launch of MATE-XT GO — a passive upper-body exoskeleton built to cut physical strain for workers handling repetitive or overhead tasks.
The device weighs under 3 kg and can be worn in just 30 seconds, with removal taking only 10 seconds — making it practical enough for daily use without disrupting established work routines. It carries Category II Personal Protective Equipment certification under EU Regulation 2016/425, which qualifies it for deployment in regulated professional environments.
It reduces muscle activity and perceived effort by up to 50%, improving comfort, endurance, and posture throughout the workday without restricting natural movement It offers eight adjustable assistance levels for each arm, following the natural biomechanical arc of the shoulder.
The device was co-developed with IUVO — a Comau majority-owned company and former spin-off of the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna — merging Comau’s industrial automation expertise with specialist knowledge in wearable technology and human biomechanics. With over 3,000 companies already using the MATE family globally, the GO variant looks to push that number considerably wider.
