Vertiv Puts Design Tools Directly in Engineers’ Hands

Vertiv has launched its Consultant Portal in India, giving consulting engineers a central online resource for the technical work behind data-centre design. The move comes as India’s data-centre pipeline grows rapidly and as projects become more demanding in power, cooling, density and deployment speed.

The registration-based portal brings together technical documentation, BIM content, design and specification tools, engineering support and training. It is aimed specifically at the consultants and engineering teams who make many of the early infrastructure decisions that ultimately determine how a data centre is built and operated. That audience matters.

Data-centre design is no longer a straightforward exercise in sizing conventional UPS systems, cooling equipment and electrical infrastructure. The rise of AI workloads is pushing rack densities higher and forcing engineers to rethink power distribution, thermal management and physical layouts. Vertiv itself is increasingly positioning its infrastructure portfolio around high-density and AI-ready environments, including liquid cooling and thermal systems for high-density racks. 

The new portal is therefore less about another product catalogue and more about getting engineering information into the design process earlier. BIM content can help consultants incorporate infrastructure components into digital building models, while technical documentation and design tools can support equipment selection and specification. Training and engineering sessions add another layer, particularly as consultants deal with unfamiliar requirements around AI infrastructure.

For Vertiv, the consultant portal creates a direct channel into that layer. Consultants can access the information needed to evaluate infrastructure options before equipment reaches the procurement stage, while Vertiv gets closer to the people shaping specifications.

The company is also extending this engagement through its AI Solution Roadshow, with a Chennai masterclass scheduled for MEP consultants, engineers and data-centre infrastructure professionals. The programme focuses on AI workloads, power and thermal management and practical infrastructure design.
