What happened:
Nanta Tech and Aimtron Electronics partner to manufacture and assist Allbotix Robotics systems against the backdrop of the booming robotics and Industry 4.0 field.
Per the agreement, Aimtron will be responsible for electronics manufacturing, including PCB and PCBA manufacturing, to ensure that Allbotix systems grow. The production will take place at its facilities in Gujarat and Noida.
Why it matters:
There is a challenge for many technology organizations to scale their production capabilities with minimal investment in manufacturing facilities keeping in mind the increased demand for robots and automation solutions in many industrial sectors. The partnership allows Nanta Tech to concentrate on product creation and growth while Aimtron looks after its production needs.
This agreement marks Aimtron’s intention to go beyond the electronics sector and explore new markets that generate higher profits like robotics and industrial automation. It also symbolizes the ongoing convergence of the smart automation technology with electronics manufacturing process in India as its advanced manufacturing capabilities are progressing.
Industry context:
The robotics and Industry 4.0 landscape in India is quickly evolving as manufacturers strive to boost productivity, tackle labour shortages, and speed up the digitalization of their operations. From factory automation and smart warehousing to artificial intelligence-powered robotics, locally-made automation products are becoming in demand. With this trend continuing, electronics manufacturing companies are changing their approach to business and looking to new markets for new and emerging technologies.
Sensors, control boards and embedded systems are among the complex electronics that are part of the robotics system, and are critical in the supply chain. Overall, the collaboration between Aimtron and Nanta Tech highlights the value of technology developers and manufacturing experts collaborating to catalyse innovation to scale. Such collaborations may prove to be key to driving India’s own industrialization and development of next generation industrial technologies as the automation industry in India continues to grow.
The acquisition is a new part of Aimtron’s strategic expansion to a market segment with a high degree of future potential, and it is a continuation of the ever progressive development of high-tech manufacturing and automation in Indian industry.
