About Danu Robotics

Danu Robotics, founded in 2020 and based in Edinburgh, is a cleantech innovator building AI-guided robotic waste sorting systems to transform the recycling industry. Its patented H.E.R.O. series robots, designed specifically for picking dry mixed recyclables, combine computer vision and AI to achieve high-accuracy sorting of materials such as plastics and aluminium cans. The systems are modular and retrofit into existing material recovery facilities, taking less than a metre of conveyor space and running 24/7. Operational efficiency improves, contamination rates drop below 1%, and data collection supports Extended Producer Responsibility compliance. Waste management firms worldwide are the principal customers, with trials underway with Glasgow City Council and partners further afield.
