Danu Robotics

Danu Robotics, set up in 2020, is an Edinburgh-based cleantech innovator developing AI-guided robotic waste sorting systems to transform the recycling industry. Its patented H.E.R.O. series robots, designed specifically for picking dry mixed recyclables, integrate advanced computer vision and AI to achieve high-accuracy sorting of materials like plastics and aluminum cans. Capable of retrofitting into existing material recovery facilities (MRFs), these modular systems require less than one meter of conveyor space and support 24/7 operations. Danu Robotics enhances operational efficiency, reduces contamination rates to below 1%, and collects data for Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) compliance. Serving waste management firms globally, the company has trials with Glasgow City Council and international partners.
