Siemens has expanded its Sinamics G drive portfolio with 4 new models. They are targeting industrial motion control, machine automation and infrastructure applications. The Sinamics G200, G210C, G210 and G210X complete the next generation of the drive range.
The new drives are designed to simplify engineering, improve machine safety and address growing cybersecurity requirements. Integration with Siemens’ TIA Portal enables consistent drive configuration, commissioning and diagnostics, helping machine builders standardise automation across different equipment platforms.
Cybersecurity is a key feature of the new range. The drives are meant to be within the bounds set by the Europe Cyber Resilience Act. They contain cyber security capabilities that meet the requirements according to IEC 62443-4-2 Level 2 standards. The drive systems include built-in functional safety measures for applications.
The 4 models have been made in consideration of key applications. The G200 serves general industrial needs. The G210C is aimed at compact installations with high demands on power density and overload performance. The G210 works on moving, positioning and processing applications. Lastly, the G210X is for pumps, fans, compressors and other transportation equipment.
With the expanded portfolio, Siemens is targeting manufacturers looking to standardise drive technology across machines. To potentially optimise engineering effort with focus on combining motion control, safety and connectivity.
