Greyparrot is bringing a manufacturing-style performance metric into recycling and making it something operators can use in real time with the launch of its live dashboard.
Recycling plants have measured Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) for years. The problem is that the number often arrives after the shift is over, when operators can no longer do much about the losses that produced it. Greyparrot is trying to change that with a new live OEE dashboard for materials recovery facilities (MRFs) and plastics recovery facilities (PRFs).
The system uses real-time AI data from Greyparrot’s Analyzer cameras to continuously calculate the three components of OEE: availability, performance and quality.
The new dashboard is designed to replace that fragmented picture with continuous measurement. Operators can see downtime and jams under availability, compare actual throughput with designed capacity, and track contamination and purity across output streams. If the score changes, the system can break down the loss by line and shift and alert teams when performance moves outside an expected range.
This builds on Greyparrot’s existing Analyzer platform, which uses cameras above conveyor belts to continuously analyse waste composition and provide live visibility into throughput, yields, purity and downtime.
For recycling facilities operating under pressure to recover more material, protect output quality and control operating costs, live dashboard helps keep critical performance parameters in check.
