As hydrogen and renewable-gas infrastructure moves toward larger-scale operation, moisture control is becoming a more critical part of process management. Excess moisture can affect equipment, gas quality and process performance. Measuring it safely, however, is harder when combustible gases or dust are present.
Vaisala is addressing that gap with the DMP370, its first intrinsically safe dew point instrument designed for hazardous locations. Launched recently the instrument extends Vaisala’s DRYCAP technology into hydrogen, biomethane, natural gas and other industrial gas applications.
The DMP370 combines a DRYCAP dew point sensor with drift compensation to provide continuous, stable monitoring while the process is running. With this Vaisala is also targeting biomethane upgrading, synthetic fuels, chemical processing and battery manufacturing where combustible gases or dust can create hazardous conditions.
