What happened: TVS Supply Chain Solutions has set up a joint venture with Italian firm ALA Group to build an aerospace and defence logistics platform in India. The venture aims for more than ₹20 billion in cumulative revenue by 2031, with TVS holding 51% and ALA the rest.
Why it matters: The deal grew out of an MoU signed earlier in the year. The platform will run sourcing, kitting, sub-assembly, imports, warehousing and delivery for defence and aerospace clients.
Industry context: India is the first focus, drawn by localisation drives, defence modernisation and foreign partnerships. Indian defence logistics market is forecast to grow near 8.6% a year. ALA, based in Naples, brings over 35 years in the sector and a presence across 40 countries.
Our take: The pairing fuses domestic reach with niche defence expertise as India scales its arms manufacturing ambitions.
