Founded in 2017, Fishy Filaments transforms end-of-life fishing nets into high-quality, low-carbon PA6 (nylon) materials for 3D printing, driving innovation in additive manufacturing. The Newlyn, Cornwall, base supports recycling of discarded monofilament nets into premium 3D printer filaments such as Porthcurno (100% recycled nylon) and pellets such as OrCA (90% nylon with 10% recycled carbon) through the proprietary Probabilistic Shaped Particle Cleaning process. These materials end up in diverse applications, from sunglasses through to racecar components. A partnership with Fillamentum supports material quality through a deployable recycling plant housed in a 40ft container.
