Covariant Ai

Originally founded as Embodied Intelligence in 2017 and based in Emeryville, California, Covariant AI has built its business around the Covariant Brain, a universal AI platform that lets robots see, reason, and act in dynamic environments. Warehouse automation is the company's focus, with the RFM-1 model powering robotic picking, sortation, and depalletization across logistics, e-commerce, and retail applications. Then came August 2024: Amazon hired co-founders Pieter Abbeel, Peter Chen, and Rocky Duan, took on roughly 25% of the staff, and licensed Covariant's technology non-exclusively. The company continues operating under CEO Ted Stinson, with clients such as GXO and Otto Group. ISO 9001:2015-certified and operating worldwide, Covariant has now logged more than 1 billion picks.
