Clearpath Robotics, set up in 2009 out of Kitchener, Ontario, builds autonomous mobile robots and unmanned ground vehicles aimed at both research labs and industrial users. After Rockwell Automation paid more than $600 million to acquire the company in 2023, Clearpath's industrial arm now operates under the OTTO Motors banner, where warehouse-focused AMRs such as the OTTO 1500 and OTTO Lifter take centre stage. Its customer base spans manufacturing, logistics, and academia, reaching over 500 brands in more than 40 countries. ISO 9001:2015-certified and a long-time champion of open-source ROS integration, Clearpath also took an early public stand on ethics in robotics - signing a 2014 pledge against lethal autonomous weapons.
