Established in 2015 in Waltham, Massachusetts, 6 River Systems was bought by Ocado Group in May 2023 from Shopify for an undisclosed sum (Shopify had acquired it in 2019 for $450 million). Now rebranded as the Ocado Mobile Robot System (OMRS), it supplies collaborative AMRs such as Chuck and Porter along with cloud-based orchestration software for logistics, retail, and e-commerce. Carrying ISO 9001:2015, UL, and CSA certifications, OMRS connects with WMS, ERP, and LMS platforms and serves more than 70 customers, including GXO and DHL, across over 100 sites in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Its systems raise productivity by 2-3X, cut training time by 75%, and deliver 99.9% uptime.
