What happened:
Daudin has introduced its expanded iO-GRID X modular remote I/O range to the UK market. Designed for manufacturers and system integrators, the platform supports multiple industrial Ethernet protocols and offers flexible configuration options for connected industrial environments.
Why it matters:
Remote I/O systems help simplify machine and plant installations by reducing wiring, saving control panel space, lowering material costs, and making future expansion easier. Each station requires just a single network and power connection to connect sensors, actuators, and other field devices. The iO-GRID X range supports major industrial communication protocols including EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP, and CC-Link IE Field Basic.
Industry context:
The portfolio includes more than 20 I/O module variants covering digital and analogue I/O, temperature measurement, serial communication, high-speed counters, and pulse output applications. Digital modules are available in 16- and 32-channel versions, while analogue modules offer resolutions of up to 16 bits. The units are DIN-rail mountable, operate in temperatures from -10°C to +60°C, and are certified to CE and UL standards. Features include dual RJ45 Ethernet ports, an integrated Ethernet switch, status LEDs, and USB-C firmware updates.
Our take:
As manufacturers continue to digitise operations, flexible and scalable remote I/O solutions are becoming increasingly important. With broad protocol support and a wide range of module options, the iO-GRID X platform is positioned to serve applications across factory automation, intralogistics, and smart building systems.
