The Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet has appointed Tanya Singhal as Vice President for India. She’ll lead grid modernization, battery storage, and distributed energy initiatives across the country.
Singhal co-founded SolarArise, where she deployed over ₹2,000 crores in capital across eight years to build a 500 MWp solar portfolio. She led the company’s exit through a London Stock Exchange listing—one of the first Indian renewable platforms to do so. Before that, she was a strategy consultant at BCG and holds a degree from IIT Delhi.
The Alliance operates 26 projects in India worth approximately $1 billion. The portfolio targets energy access for 49 million people, 2.2 million jobs, and 166 million tons of emission reduction. In February 2026, it launched a $25 million India Grids of the Future Accelerator.
Singhal has worked with India’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and is a recognized voice on climate policy.
