Sphera has introduced AI-powered capabilities for supply chain risk management. To identify how external disruptions could affect suppliers. That too in minutes rather than days.
The capabilities connect external risk signals with supplier and operational data. This could potentially help businesses assess potential impact of events. The goal is to reduce the time spent manually tracing disruptions.
The launch addresses a challenge for manufacturers operating across complex global supply networks. According to Sphera’s research across the US, UK, Germany, France and the UAE, 58% of surveyed chief operating officers said their most significant disruptions originated at least as much outside their organisations as within them.
The research also found that 33% of COOs struggled to identify exposed suppliers or products, while 30% cited difficulties choosing mitigation measures and 29% struggled to quantify the business impact.
Indian manufacturers facing raw material supply uncertainties and exporters navigating complex, multi-shore supply networks need to move beyond reactive supply chain management. By leveraging AI and agentic capabilities, they can build solutions that continuously monitor emerging signals, anticipate potential disruptions and predict their downstream impact. Increasingly, these capabilities can be developed using readily available technology platforms and may not need building everything from scratch.
