Dragos Acquires runZero and NetRise to to build defence capabilities across entire xOT Stack

Dragos has chosen to inorganically add capabilities beyond conventional OT security. The company has acquired runZero and NetRise, adding asset exposure management and software supply-chain security to its platform. The deals follow the close of Accenture’s majority investment in Dragos announced earlier this year.

The objective is to give security teams one view of the broader extended operational technology (xOT) environment  from IT and cloud-connected assets to industrial devices and the systems controlling physical processes. runZero brings asset intelligence and exposure management across IT, OT, IoT and cloud environments. It can consolidate asset information from existing tools, helping security teams identify what is actually connected and where exposure exists.

NetRise tackles a different layer: what is inside those devices. Its technology provides visibility into firmware and software components, helping identify issues such as outdated components and hardcoded credentials. It also adds software supply-chain information relevant to compliance requirements.

The acquisitions follow Dragos’ purchase of connected-device security company Phosphorus earlier in 2026. Together, the additions broaden the platform from identifying threats on industrial networks to discovering devices, assessing exposure and examining the software running on them.
