Skild AI Acquires Fetch Robotics From Zebra Technologies

Skild AI has acquired Zebra Technologies’ robotics division — the business originally built around Fetch Robotics — in a deal that hands Skild both an established robot fleet and the engineering team behind it.

Zebra had paid USD 290 million for Fetch in 2021 but pulled back last year citing high operational costs. Skild is stepping in with a clear agenda: support the existing Fetch installed base, continue selling Fetch robots, and layer its own AI into the product line.

Zebra’s Symmetry Fulfillment platform, which coordinates tasks between robots and human workers using real-time wearable data, comes along with the deal and extends Skild’s capabilities into human-robot coordination.

The acquisition follows Skild’s January Series C — USD 1.4 billion raised, led by SoftBank, with Nvidia, Macquarie, and Bezos Expeditions among the backers. That round tripled the company’s valuation in seven months, underlining how seriously the market is taking Skild’s bet on a single, unified AI model for robotics.
