Switzerland-based sanitary and piping systems maker Geberit has commissioned a new polyethylene pipe manufacturing plant at its Chakan facility near Pune. The new line is fully automated and includes in-house testing capabilities built into the production process.
The move is aimed squarely at reducing lead times and improving supply flexibility for customers in India’s construction and infrastructure markets. Rather than importing or relying on distant supply chains, Geberit can now produce and test PE piping locally. The Pune expansion is part of a broader strategy to deepen its manufacturing footprint in growth markets.
