Hero MotoCorp Names Sachin Agrawal as CTO

Hero MotoCorp has appointed Sachin Agrawal as Chief Technology Officer, effective May 21, 2026. Agrawal spent the last 14-plus years at VE Commercial Vehicles (Volvo-Eicher JV) as Executive Vice President and Head of R&D. He’s worked across diesel, CNG, electric, and hydrogen platforms. Before that, he was at Daewoo Motors in South Korea, working on the Matiz chassis.
He’ll run R&D at Hero Centre for Innovation and Technology(CIT) in India and Hero Tech Centre Germany (TCG). He brings extensive experience to the role having held key positions for Volvo, Eicher and Daewoo.He has also previously chaired SIAM’s Frontier Technology and Innovation Group and led Volvo’s Global Center of Excellence for medium-duty engines.
Agrawal has 29 years in automotive R&D and will play a key role as Hero furthers into electric mobility through the Vida brand and AI-integrated vehicle systems.
