Power system design is one of the biggest challenges for engineers as manufacturers start to use AI on machines, production lines and industrial assets located in the field. To help engineers create reliable power architectures for industrial edge AI applications, Mouser Electronics has combined its AI Resource Hub with its Power Management Resource Hub.
Edge AI is a type of AI that processes data in real-time, at the point of data creation – within the machine, in the sensor or in the industrial equipment. AI inference is a continuous process in applications like predictive maintenance, machine vision, anomaly detection and smart sensing, which may be in hard-to-reach or less dependable locations. This generates very dynamic power demands, which were not designed for by the conventional embedded systems.
Mouser’s resource hubs offer engineers technical information on AI development as well as power management. The resources feature articles, white papers, eBooks and practical design examples related to TinyML, AI in microcontrollers, power management ICs, battery-backed designs, energy harvesting, solar-powered edge systems, and DC microgrid design.
The platform also includes focus on challenges encountered in real-life industrial deployment.
