L&T Technology Services (LTTS) announced the introduction of its AgenticIQ- an end-to-end agentic AI platform, aimed at facilitating engineering and manufacturing companies to transition from small-scale AI experiments to autonomous AI deployments across operations.
It’s designed for organisations that want to leverage AI agents for more than just specific tasks, but for managing intricate workflows across engineering, product development, manufacturing, industrial operations and customer experience.
While many businesses have tried out generative and predictive AI, scaling these initiatives from a proof of concept to production is a difficult task. Large-scale AI deployment is challenging due to disconnected engineering systems, manual processes, compliance and security of data.
According to LTTS, the company’s goal with AgenticIQ™ is to overcome these issues by repurposing its existing engineering skills into specific, easily-reusable AI agents.
It’s designed in a planning-first way that enables various AI agents to coordinate their efforts in intricate engineering and business processes within established security and governance limits of an enterprise. The strategy is designed to enable enterprises to stay in control of important engineering data, IP and regulatory aspects, while simultaneously gaining increased automation.
LTTS is not going to be a general purpose AI platform, but rather a platform that is tailored to providing AgenticIQ™ around domain-specific applications. For instance, AI agents could be used to aid in product development tasks, streamline manufacturing processes with intricate tasks, or even enhance information flow and problem-solving for customer-facing teams.
Additionally, it includes multi-agent workflows, which enable various specialized agents to work together rather than depending on a single AI system to complete all tasks.
A transition to self-reliant engineering.
The launch is part of a larger shift in the thinking of industrial companies around AI. Most of the initial AI use cases were single app use cases such as predictive maintenance, quality inspection, or document analysis and/or customer-service automation.
Agentic AI presents a different model that is more autonomous. AI agents can be engineered to perform a series of steps within a specific task, on specific enterprise systems, with collaboration with other AI agents and subject to specific controls rather than just following a prompting. This could ultimately make AI more of a part of the engineering and manufacturing process, instead of just being a digital tool.
