L&T Energy GreenTech has signed a take-or-pay offtake agreement with Japanese trading house ITOCHU Corporation to supply 300,000 tonnes of green ammonia annually from a planned production facility at Kandla, Gujarat. The structure gives L&T bankable demand as it moves toward full-scale operations. ITOCHU intends to channel the ammonia into green bunkering infrastructure, targeting maritime fuel markets with Singapore as a central deployment point. For L&T, it reinforces Kandla’s positioning as a low-carbon fuel export hub, aligned with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission.
