Hazardous, municipal, biomedical, and integrated waste are what SMS Envocare Ltd handles, an environmental-infrastructure and renewable-energy company promoted by SMS Ltd. Its facilities run the gamut: Common Effluent Treatment Plants (CETP), Common Hazardous Waste Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facilities (CHWTSDF), and Common Biomedical Waste Treatment Facilities (CBWTF). Set up in Nagpur in 2003, the company brought Plasma Gasification Vitrification Technology to India via a 2005-06 deal with Westinghouse Corporation (now Alter NRG, Canada), running it at two CHWTSDF sites to destroy incinerable hazardous waste. Holding ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 17025 (NABL lab), and OHSAS 18001, it adds consultancy, environmental monitoring, and 3R training, pushing sustainability through modern facilities and eco-friendly methods.
