The company develops advanced mobile robots, including Spot (a quadruped for inspection), Stretch (case-handling for warehouses), and Atlas (an electric humanoid for R&D). Its Orbit software enables fleet management and data integration. Serving industries such as construction, energy, manufacturing, and logistics, Boston Dynamics combines AI, reinforcement learning, and vision systems for dynamic mobility and autonomy. Acquired by Hyundai Motor Group (80% stake) in June 2021, with SoftBank retaining 20%, it employs 201-500 staff and has raised $37M historically. Spot, its first commercial product (2019), supports more than 100 customers, while Stretch automates logistics for DHL and others.
