Databricks Taps Simon Davies for Asia Pacific Leadership

Databricks has named Simon Davies as Senior Vice President and General Manager for Asia Pacific and Japan, capitalizing on 85% year-over-year regional growth in Q4.

Based in Singapore, Davies will oversee strategy, operations, and growth across Australia, New Zealand, ASEAN, India, Japan, Korea, and Greater China. He brings 30-plus years in enterprise technology, data, and cloud services from SAP, Splunk, Microsoft, Salesforce, and Oracle.

Davies joins from SAP, where he served as Regional President for Asia Pacific, leading strategy, operations, sales, and profitability. Previously, he was SVP and GM at Splunk, driving regional expansion.

Databricks now employs over 1,500 across APJ and will move into a new 32,000-square-foot Singapore headquarters this year, quadrupling its footprint. The company is expanding in financial services, telecommunications, and public sector with customers including Singapore Customs, Samsung Life Insurance, and SingTel.

“This is one of the most digitally advanced and AI-ready regions globally, where organizations are moving from experimentation to scaled impact,” Davies said, highlighting Databricks’ ability to combine innovation with execution.
