Dassault Systèmes and OMRON have partnered to close a gap that’s frustrated manufacturers for years — the disconnect between product design, automation engineering, and actual production.
The collaboration links Dassault’s 3DEXPERIENCE platform with OMRON’s Sysmac automation system, creating a continuous digital thread from design through live operations. At the core is a Virtual Twin of Production Systems: manufacturers can design production lines, test them, validate robots, and stress-test logistics all before anything is physically built.
By creating a unified IT/OT environment, the Dassault-OMRON platform aims to shift factories from reactive operations to predictive ones — catching failures in simulation before they become real, and building the kind of adaptability that rigid, legacy setups simply can’t support.
