Comau is broadening its incorporation of artificial intelligence in industrial robotics via a partnership with NVIDIA- marrying robotic engineering knowhow with AI simulation software and advanced computing to create smarter and independent automation solutions.
The partnership will incorporate NVIDIA technologies into Comau’s robotic controllers, simulation techniques, and intralogistics solutions. The program’s goal is to accelerate development to help manufacturers with creating advanced robotics applications in industrial centers.
One of the key aspects announced consists of Comau’s state-of-the-art robotic controllers that will incorporate NVIDIA Jetson edge computing technology to provide support to rigorous AI applications. The design was built to enable platform operators to introduce adaptive robotics capable of addressing the most complicated industrial challenges.
Comau is on the way to include its robot options including industrial and collaborative robots into the NVIDIA Isaac Sim universe which is the simulation system built using NVIDIA Omniverse libraries. This will allow the robotic industry the chance for simulations of robotic processes and testing of controls plus generating artificial data for further application on the production lines.
Engineers can assess robotic behavior and enhance performance in simulated environments since the integration of physics-based simulation and logistics workflow modeling can help achieve the aim. In addition, Comau has made its simulation-friendly robots available through the OpenUSD format to NVIDIA’s Simulation Ready Central Library on Hugging Face (an open-source platform and community for artificial intelligence and machine learning) so that validated assets could be provided to robotic developers for application testing and development purposes.
Physical AI with the help of which robots can utilize AI solutions during their work processes and illustrate their ability to adapt to various conditions. The implementation of these kind of initiatives will help companies implement robotic systems easier while increasing the level of efficiency of industrial processes.
