What happened: Hirebotics has released the Cobot Painter, a collaborative robot system for finishing work in explosion-prone environments. The product pairs FANUC’s CRX-10iA/L Paint hardware with Hirebotics’ no-code Beacon software. It supports liquid painting, powder coating, and gel coating.
Why it matters: The system runs inside existing manual spray booths, removing the need for dedicated paint cells or major exhaust and conveyor changes. Operators program paths using a click-and-teach method on a tablet or phone, with no robotics expertise required. The system is designed for quick training and deployment.
Industry context: Metal fabricators have often outsourced coating because conventional automated lines were costly and complex, which would make it difficult to control the lead times and margins. The CRX-10iA/L Paint cobot carries a 55.82-inch reach and is positioned for high-mix, low-volume production. It targets repeatable coats while cutting paint waste and overspray.
