What happened: HMS Networks has launched Ewon Edge & Cloud, a platform that pairs plug-and-play edge gateways with a cloud-based subscription service for secure remote access. It targets machine builders and industrial end-users adopting IIoT capabilities.

Why it matters: The platform uses VPN technology, Single Sign-On, Multi-Factor Authentication, and audit logs, and delivers remote access up to three times faster than earlier versions. Centralised access governance covers internal teams and external partners across multiple sites. It also addresses cybersecurity frameworks including IEC 62443, NIS2, and ISO 27001.
