Teledyne DALSA Pushes AxCIS Imaging to 1,800 dpi and 1.5-Metre Widths

What happened: Teledyne DALSA has expanded its AxCIS contact image sensor family with models reaching 1,800 dpi resolution and scanning widths up to 1,500 mm. The sensors are fully integrated line scan modules that combine imaging, optics, and illumination in one unit.

Why it matters: The integrated build simplifies installation -lowers system complexity and operating cost. Higher resolution and wider scan coverage allow the platform to perform well for larger and more detailed inspection tasks.

Industry context: Ideal use cases include semiconductor fabrication, battery production, and high-speed print inspection. Color models offer native RGB three-line imaging up to 60 kHz at 28 µm pixel size and 900 dpi. High dynamic range handles uneven lighting and reflective materials, while the sensor design covers the full field of view without missing pixels or interpolation. A telecentric lens design supports metrology-grade work.
