What happened: Cyient Semiconductors has signed a financing transaction with funds managed by EAAA India Alternatives and co-investors. Includes $10 million investment at a p.m. valuation of around $500 million, plus about $20 million in structured debt.
Why it matters: Fund will further R&D across custom power semiconductors and custom ASSPs, in-house validation and testing infrastructure in India, and working capital for larger global customer programs.
Industry context: Over the past year the company acquired Kinetic Technologies, a power semiconductor firm with more than 3 billion chips shipped, over 250 products, and over 100 patents. Launched an India GaN power IC family with Navitas, formed partnerships with GlobalFoundries and MIPS, and secured the SCL modernization program. It runs design centres in India, Belgium, and the US.
Our take: Funding allows Cyient to be at the centre of efficiency demand from AI infrastructure and India’s domestic chip push.
