Moxa’s ioPAC 6500 Series has picked up the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2025. In oil and gas facilities, water treatment plants, and utility projects, scaling operations typically means adding more vendor-specific devices, which leads to fragmented systems, integration headaches, and complex fieldwork. The ioPAC 6500 will cut through that.
Co-developed with Saudi Aramco Technologies, the modular remote terminal unit runs on Intelligent Integrated Node technology. Its hot-swappable backplane takes I/O, communication, processing, power, or expansion modules that have been configured to what the site actually needs. One unit replaces what would otherwise be multiple controllers from different vendors.
The Red Dot jury called out its tool-free, mistake-proof assembly. Engineers can reconfigure or expand the hardware on-site in minutes — no tools, no rewiring, fewer errors. That translates to faster installs, reduced downtime, and fewer failure points overall.
