What happened:
Mouser Electronics has expanded its industrial automation lineup. It has added nine new manufacturing partners in the first half of 2026. The move brings a wider range of products to engineers. It has also enhanced system integrators working on automation, and power management applications.
Why it matters:
Mouser is planning to onboard additional suppliers to its system in order to simplify the sourcing of components for customers planning to create factory automation or IIoT applications as many of their current suppliers offer at least one part from three different technology sectors (sensors, connectivity, and control devices) for industrial automation initiatives.
The expansion of Mouser’s inventory of automation products will allow engineers to choose from more possible parts through a single distribution pathway, thereby reducing complexity in obtaining parts while reducing overall project time.
Industry context:
As factories increase their use of automation technologies globally, automation vendors are trying to improve their operation efficiency; decrease downtime, and increase ability to monitor operations of their manufacturing environments. With an increase in the interconnection of industrial systems, there is a greater need for components that enable reliable communication and the ability to transfer real-time data.
Since the trend is toward increased automation, distributors are expanding their solutions to provide customers with a wider variety of automation products than ever before. Mouser’s recent addition of suppliers reflects the trend of providing additional products to help support those customers who are either upgrading their operational facilities with smart factory technologies or creating new designs for industrial machines.
