AutoStore has announced its upcoming batch of hardware and software updates.. The releases build on the CubeVerse and AutoStore Intelligence software foundation the Norwegian company introduced earlier this year.
Following are the three updates to expect:
FlexBinsPort lets one workstation handle bins of different sizes, across all standard AutoStore bin heights. The company estimates this will improve storage utilisation by 10% to 15%, and will make it labour more efficient
AutoCase brings case picking and single-item picking into the same AutoStore system. It takes cases up to 600 x 400 mm. Case support arrives early 2027, and that software release will also let several AutoCase stations work on the same task group at once, feeding a steady flow of cases to palletising and packing.
Pio Pal offers robotic picking to smaller businesses on a robotics-as-a-service basis. For orders that are already picked, the workstation can pack up to 540 order lines an hour. AutoStore says new pre-picking features can triple performance without extra staff. Single-line pre-picking targets a type of order the company says makes up 40% to 60% of consumer e-commerce orders.
For manufacturers running their own warehouses, the main changes are case picking alongside item picking in one system, and maintenance driven by live data. Both affect how storage connects to palletising, packing and the rest of the supply chain.
