Rockwell Automation has elected David Zapico, Chairman and CEO of AMETEK, to its board, linking leadership at two major industrial automation players. The appointment took effect April 16, expanding the board to eleven directors.
Zapico brings 36 years at AMETEK, the global industrial technology solutions provider. He became CEO in 2016 and Chairman in 2017. Prior roles include Executive Vice President, President of Electronic Instruments, and Division Vice President of Process Instruments.
Rockwell Chairman Blake Moret praised Zapico’s industrial market knowledge and track record driving profitable growth through margin expansion and disciplined capital deployment. He’s led AMETEK through sustained growth, strategic acquisitions, and continuous improvement.
Zapico will serve on Rockwell’s Compensation and Talent Management Committee and Board Composition and Corporate Governance Committee through the 2027 Annual Meeting.
Both companies operate across factory automation, process control, and industrial markets where customers invest in equipment, sensors, and software for efficiency gains. Zapico holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve and an MBA from Carnegie Mellon.
