Flex and Teradyne Robotics expand 20-year partnership into intelligent automation

Flex and Teradyne Robotics expand 20-year partnership into intelligent automation

What happened: Flex and Teradyne Robotics expanded their collaboration to accelerate intelligent automation across global manufacturing. Flex will deploy Teradyne Robotics solutions in its production facilities while manufacturing key robotics components for Teradyne Robotics customers worldwide. The partnership focuses on Universal Robots collaborative robots and Mobile Industrial Robots autonomous mobile robots.

Why it matters: The dual-role arrangement provides continuous operational feedback, validating robotics technologies at scale and enabling faster replication of successful automation workflows. Flex manufactures core robotics components for Teradyne Robotics, enabling scalable production and rapid global deployment. The companies are integrating physical AI technologies into collaborative robots and AMRs to enable more adaptive solutions within complex production environments.

Industry context: The expansion builds on a 20-year partnership manufacturing Teradyne semiconductor test equipment. Teradyne Robotics solutions are part of Flex’s effort across its global manufacturing footprint to standardize automation and accelerate productivity

Our take : Feedback loop between manufacturing and deployment can accelerate validation cycles. Combining component production with real-world testing addresses a likely gap seen  in automation scaling.
