L&T Semiconductor Technologies signed a Master Supply Agreement with Newen Systems to develop silicon carbide power modules for renewable energy inverters. The same targets application in: battery storage, solar, and power conversion.
SiC modules beat traditional silicon on efficiency, thermal performance, and switching speeds—essential for high-density power loads. The deal combines L&T’s manufacturing with Newen’s 30 GW power electronics infrastructure in India.
The MSA includes rigorous testing and validation to meet reliability and performance standards for renewables applications in diverse environmental conditions , the same will be optimised for battery inverters and grid integration.
