Wang has been appointed one of the company’s three deputy and rotating chairs along with Eric Xu and Sabrina Meng Wanzhou, the CFO and daughter of founder Ren Zhengfei. Despite the title, the rotating chair role functions more as a CEO position, presiding over Huawei’s senior executive team.
He recently was the chairman of the ICT infrastructure board and president of ICT products . He replaces Ken Hu, a 36-year veteran who remains on the board but no longer serves on the executive committee.
