Teradyne has made a strategic investment in Bright Machines as the two companies look to accelerate manufacturing capabilities for the rapidly expanding AI infrastructure market.
AI infrastructure manufacturing is becoming increasingly complex as hyperscalers, AI labs, semiconductor companies and OEMs invest in next-generation computing systems. With product designs changing rapidly and production volumes increasing, manufacturers need flexible production lines that can adapt without lengthy re-engineering.
Teradyne and Bright Machines aim to help manufacturers build complex systems faster, improve traceability and scale production while maintaining flexibility and quality.
Bright Machines brings a software-defined manufacturing platform covering robotics, automation, inspection, material movement, production intelligence and operations. The company has deployed more than 130 microfactories across over 10 countries and currently supports AI infrastructure production in the United States.
Under the planned collaboration, the companies will explore applications including precision robotic assembly, robotic loading and unloading of test equipment, and autonomous material movement.
