SiMa.ai Partners with Mistral Solutions  

What happened: SiMa.ai has partnered with Mistral Solutions, an AXISCADES company, to develop a reference design for AI-powered autonomous drones.

Why it matters: The design combines SiMa.ai’s AI software and MLSoC platform with Mistral’s drone engineering expertise, delivering a compact, low-power solution designed to extend flight time and simplify drone development.

Industry context: Running entirely on-device, the platform supports AI inference, GPS-denied navigation, obstacle avoidance, and autonomous mission planning within a power budget of under 10W. It is aimed at drone OEMs and system integrators, with availability expected in Q3 2026.

Our take: By providing a ready-to-use AI drone platform, the partnership could reduce development time for drone manufacturers while strengthening India’s role in embedded AI and autonomous systems engineering.
