Indie set to acquire CMOS Sensor Business from AMS OSRAM

What happened: indie Semiconductor signed an agreement to purchase the fabless CMOS image sensor group from ams OSRAM for 40 million euro. The business includes operations in Belgium and Portugal. The product line covers CMOS image sensors for industrial, automation, and physical AI applications. 

Why it matters: The acquisition adds to indie’s automotive ADAS sensing portfolio, expanding multimodal capabilities across radar, vision, LiDAR, and ultrasonic technologies. Integration combines CMOS sensors with indie’s sensor-fusion hardware and perception software.
