Manufacturers are turning to on-premise computing platforms that can process data at the edge as AI gets closer to the manufacturing equipment and assets, not just the cloud. This trend is fueling a growing demand for rugged industrial computers capable of handling AI workloads, machine vision, and real-time automation, particularly in challenging operating environments.
To meet this demand, WINSYSTEMS has launched the SBC35-474, a 3.5-inch single-board computer powered by Intel’s Atom x7000RE Series processors, which is compact and cost-effective. The platform is built for industrial use, and it can be used to deliver AI acceleration, high-speed networking, multiple expansion and to power machine control, machine vision, machines in transportation, communications gateways and remote monitoring.
Features such as triple-display support, support for DDR5 memory, dual 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, M.2 expansion slots for additional storage, wireless connectivity modules and AI accelerators, triple 2.5L power ports, TPM 2.0 hardware security and a fanless design combine to make the computer more versatile and robust.
Industry context
Smart machines and machines with AI are increasingly moving from cloud computing to the edge, where data is not sent to central cloud servers for processing.
