TCS and ABB Expand Partnership Across AI and Infrastructure

Companies signed a MOU to deepen collaboration across IT infrastructure, industrial AI, and data center development. The partnership combines ABB’s electrification and automation expertise with TCS’s AI and engineering capabilities.

Three focus areas define the collaboration: transforming IT infrastructure to create agile, secure foundations aligned with ABB’s operating model, joint work on industrial AI, digital twins, and vision-based inspection systems and exploring opportunities tied to TCS’s planned data centre expansion in India.

For ABB, the partnership provides access to TCS’s AI stack capabilities and delivery infrastructure. For TCS, which aims to become a leading AI-led technology services provider, ABB represents a significant industrial client with complex automation needs.

India figures prominently in the arrangement. ABB views the country as a key growth market, while TCS is expanding data centre capacity domestically. The partnership could position ABB as a core supplier for that infrastructure buildout. The emphasis on digital twins and OT-IT convergence reflects where manufacturing technology is heading: systems that model physical processes digitally to optimize performance in real time.
