Mitsubishi Electric has invested ¥4 billion in Elephantech’s Series F funding and established strategic partnership to accelerate global deployment of Sustaina Circuits, the startup’s proprietary sustainable printed circuit board manufacturing solution. The collaboration aims to establish inkjet-based PCB production as an industry standard, addressing urgent environmental concerns in electronics manufacturing.
Elephantech pioneered copper nano-ink technology enabling innovative manufacturing where ink prints on substrates only where needed to form circuits. This approach dramatically reduces manufacturing steps while cutting copper consumption, water usage, and CO₂ emissions compared to conventional methods. The Tokyo-based company successfully achieved industrial-scale production of SustainaCircuits through advanced nanomaterials and inkjet technologies.
Mitsubishi Electric brings extensive expertise through its Factory Automation Systems business, offering comprehensive product portfolios to PCB manufacturers globally. The partnership combines Elephantech’s technological advantages with Mitsubishi Electric’s capabilities in industrial equipment development, manufacturing excellence, and global customer networks.
