Japanese semiconductor manufacturer ROHM has entered into a strategic partnership with India-based Suchi Semicon to develop reliable production ecosystem to support both domestic demand and global supply requirements.
The initial phase is expected to focus on back-end semiconductor processes, including packaging and testing of power devices and integrated circuits. Technical assessments are underway to enable production ramp-up within the year. Combining ROHM’s device engineering expertise with Suchi Semicon’s local manufacturing capabilities, the partnership seeks to create a scalable and efficient production model in India.
Alliance reflects a broader effort to deepen semiconductor self-reliance and improve supply chain resilience. As India accelerates its semiconductor ambitions, collaborations of this nature are likely to play a key role in strengthening local value addition and reducing external dependency.
With demand rising across automotive, industrial, and electronics sectors, the move signals a practical step toward expanding Indian footprint in the global semiconductor landscape.
