Apptronik Secures Additional $520M to Accelerate Apollo Humanoid Production

Austin-based humanoid robotics developer Apptronik has closed a $520 million Series A-X extension round, pushing its total Series A financing beyond $935 million and bringing aggregate capital raised to nearly $1 billion. The substantial investment reflects surging investor confidence in the company’s strategy to commercialize Apollo humanoid robots ahead of both Chinese competitors and Tesla’s Optimus platform.

The round included returning backers B Capital, Google, Mercedes-Benz, and PEAK6, along with newcomers AT&T Ventures, John Deere, and Qatar Investment Authority. This diverse investor base spans technology, automotive, manufacturing, and sovereign wealth sectors.

Apptronik is valued at approximately $5 billion, positioning it among the most highly valued humanoid robotics startups globally. This valuation milestone arrives as the company transitions from pilot deployments to commercial-scale manufacturing, with partnerships already established across multiple industries.

Capital from the extension will fund expanded production capacity for Apollo robots at Apptronik’s Austin headquarters while supporting a new California office opening later this year. The company plans to invest in state-of-the-art robot training and data collection facilities essential for refining AI systems that power Apollo’s capabilities.
